Raglan News Bulletin Friday 23rd February 2024

Plans have been revealed for another 400 new residential sections to be opened up in Raglan. According to the plans - which are in draft stage - a new road will be constructed running from Wainui Road through to Te Hutewai Road near the Xtreme Zero Waste entrance,  with most of the sections accessed via this road. The exact point where council services and intersections with existing roads will be made are still being debated but the overall concept is within the council rules.

These 400 sections are in addition to the 500 sections that Raglan Land Co has promised at Rangitahi and were approved in the most recent district plan review. Additional residential zoning was also approved on land behind Rangitahi owned by Raglan Land Company.

The development is at a very early stage with real estate websites advertising a tender for a greenfield site of 34 ha in a residential zone. It’s currently held in 2 titles but the draft  plan shows capacity for most of the 400 sections within the 2 titles. Tenders close on March 27th.

Waikato District is now in a restricted fire season until further notice. The entire North Waikato Thames Coromandel and even Hamilton City now have fire restrictions where open air fires are still possible but a permit will be required.

Announcing the fire season change, District Manager Daryl Trim says that with the warm dry weather Fire and Emergency New Zealand now want to work with landowners by issuing them permits to help them safely manage their fires.

Please head to www.checkitsalright.nz or call 0800 658 628 to get a permit.
