The Yot Club is having its final gig this Saturday from 5pm with a line-up of punk acts including some local legends and long time guests of the Club. The event  has been named after a Dead Kennedy’s song Lets Lynch the Landlord - a title that will suprise no one after a public and very acrimonious dispute between tenant and landlord at Raglan most inconic music venue.

The bands playing include The DHDFD’s, Hoick ,Illicit Wah Wahz, Stunt Clown, Sonomass and Vikki No Mates with promises of more announcements to come.

We can’t tell you much more about the show though because the show description is mostly a reiteration of the long-running dispute with slanderous comments about local individuals that we can’t print here.

Cats and Roosters are the most complained about animals in our district but chickens, cows, and pigs have also been annoying people according to the council which is making changes to it’s animal bylaws.

They want to treat all properties as urban sections if they’re under 1500 square meters and are also changing the rules to say cats don’t have to stay within property boundaries - because no one knows how to make cats behave. They’re going to let you put your chicken house close to your own house although we reckon no one knew there was a rule about keeping them 10 metres apart, and they’re going to change how close you can put your beehive to the neighbours - but that only applies to people living out of town.

Dog haters will have to wait for another time to change dog rules as they have their own separate bylaw.

Zane Jowsey has successfully raised $10,000 during a 24-hour golf marathon fundraiser where he played golf at Te Kowhai from 4pm till 4pm the next day.

He was helping the Hillcrest High School Physical Assistance Centre to purchase a wheelchair-accessible van. Zane’s son Max attends the centre and Zane was raving about how wonderful the place is shortly before heading out on the course.

Looking to raise $10K he made exactly $10, 350. When asked how much he was over the card the response is once again one we can’t mention here but it translated to quite a lot.

In local sport the Raglan Roosters Football team had Matariki weekend off but the league teams were out in force over Saturday and Sunday.
