The local Police are asking the community to be extra vigilant at the moment due to a rise in theft from vehicles. They’re advising people not to leave any valuables in vehicles and to make sure they are always locked.
Anzac Weekend in Raglan
It’s another busy weekend in Raglan with the Anzac day parade happening at 11am on Monday while the old School is showing movies and there's lots of music and an art exhibition too.
Armin Schmidt’s HOKA exhibition is opening tonight at 6pm at La Petite gallery on Wainui Rd. This event will have music from DMTH while Wyld cafe is also having their usual Friday night live set and the Old School is doing another live and local event upstairs in the creative space. This month they feature Plot, Dave Maybe and Bruci Jordan.
Mikey Havoc will be at the Yot Club on Saturday night and of course they will be doing another Sunday session on Sunday arvo now that they’re finally back from the Covid break.
Raglan Dog Muster
The inaugural Ragdog muster is happening this Sunday at Papahua at 9am. Dogs of all sizes are welcome to join an 11 km circuit walking or running along a beach, through a bush reserve and over a paddock
The event is a fundraiser for the Raglan Vet’s re-homing of unwanted and stray animals fund and Raglan Community Radio will be present at the event. Go to ragdogmuster.com to register as there are no registrations taken on the day.
Raglan Sport
The Raglan Men’s rugby team has their opening game of the season on Saturday at 2:45 at the rugby grounds on Cross St. They’ll be playing Jaradites in the first round of the division 2 competition. The Men’s football team the Roosters, while playing a few warm up matches at the moment won’t be starting their official season for a couple more weeks.
And Local Surfer Kora Cooper has been selected to travel to El Salvador as part of the NZ - ISA Junior Surfing Championships team. The event takes place from May 27 - June 5 and he is fundraising through givealittle. Look for “Help Kora Get to the ISA World Champs”
