The Raglan Lions have announced the annual New Year’s Eve Parade is on again for 2025. The Raglan Volunteer Coastguard is calling for help from the community as they’re in the process of raising $2 million for a brand new all weather rescue vessel.
They say the boat will be a lifeline for boaties, surfers, swimmers, and our whole community – and that their MEGA-Match-Fund means every dollar donated by the community will be matched by a corporate donor and then super sized by a MEGA match partner
They’re also fundraising across the Waikato with this morning’s tradie Breakfast event occurring at Mitre 10 Cambridge.
So far they have raised $600,000 of the 2 million required, so if you want to help out go to raglancoastguard.org.nz/donate for details.

A new website, Go Raglan, has been launched by the Whāingaroa Raglan Destination Management Organisation as the go-to online guide for locals and visitors to Raglan.
The site is part of the DMO’s five-year, community-led tourism and events plan, supported by funding from the Department of Internal Affairs.
DMO representative Charlie Young says the site is designed to evolve and grow with community input.
“Go Raglan is really a celebration of what makes our place special he says. Before adding “We’d love to hear from locals if there are any gaps or new ideas to add.”
Go Raglan and the DMO will be holding a series of pop-ups this summer to find out what locals think about tourism in our community plus they’ll also be conducting a survey of tourists at the same time.
