At a hui held on 6 July 2022, it was agreed that there was general support from WDC for the return of the airfield land to its rightful owners and that a resolution would be put to WDC seeking agreement to engage with the Office for Māori Crown relations (Te Arawhiti) and other relevant agencies to achieve this outcome. This report gives effect to the commitment given at this hui.
