Soundsplash is about to drop its first line up announcement on Monday. Even though the event is being held in the new year, tickets have long been sold out although Soundsplash does say there will be a ticket resale facility coming later in the year.
With borders reopening fans are hopeful that international headline acts such as Peking Duk who headlined previously will be coming back but Soundsplash hasn’t allowed any leaks to occur.
Council is once again delaying the introduction of the new district plan after National and Labour made a deal to increase housing density dramatically throughout the country. Luckily Raglan isn’t yet big enough to have the high density rules apply but Ngāruawāhia, Huntly, and Pokeno and Tuakau are being given a chance to have their say about whether 3 houses and 3 stories will be the rule for their entire community.
The end result is the district plan review is stretching into its fourth year now and the council is asking the ministry of the environment if they can extend the notification date to September 16th.
In local sport the Raglan Roosters are playing in Hamilton again this Sunday – at 1pm at Kahikatea Park. They’re taking on Not Wade n Co in a match that should see them cement their place at the top of the Waikato Sunday League. Regular winners of the competition with 6 titles since 2008 it’s actually been 5 years since since the league title has come to home and hopes are high that there will be a return to the glory days.
