The Raglan Growers market has returned for summer . Despite the bad weather today, daylight saving has arrived and the popularity of the market last season meant it would be back at the first available chance. The Organisers say not to worry about the weather though – if it stays rough they’ll move from the lawn on Stewart St into the Church Hall next door so the market will be going ahead rain or shine from 5-7pm this evening.
Waikato District Council, and in fact most of the councils in New Zealand are today launching a new app that will enable residents to let council know when they need to fix a pothole, mow some weeds, put a sign back up or anything else you can think of.
This will be part of the service request system that they’ve had for a few years but you won’t need to work your way through their website from now on to find the service. Residents will also be able to include a photo of the problem they’re complaining about.
Today’s launch is a soft launch with full promotion happening at a later date but the app does appear to be fully operational with the app creator saying they will use it later on to also send messages out to the community.

Earlier in the week the Raglan duo of Luca Thompson and Alani Morse claimed the two major titles at the Sticky Johnson Primary School Champs. Alani Morse defended her Year 7&8 Girls Division title at the event while it was a first win for Luca Thompson in the Year 7&8 Boys Division after having finalled at several events over the past 12 months but never having stepped up to the top of the podium. https://raglanradio.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Year-78-Boys-PSC2023CPL.jpg
