Show Overview

Stevie Wonder sings  “Music is a world within itself / With a language we all understand / With an equal opportunity / For all to sing, dance and clap their hands…” From  “Sir Duke,” off the 1976 album, Songs in the Key of Life,

Across 110th Street is a show inspired by the music you might hear trooping from the banks of the Hudson River to the lapping waves along the East River, a walk across 110th street, my block in Manhattan.  Stopping to sit on a stoop, listening to beats and ritmos in the big apple, music of the world, of different places, styles, instruments, languages, from Stevie to Fela to Oumou from Dylan to Dilla to Dee-lite from Quasimoto to The Gladiators to Novos Baianos to Mercedes Sosa to Bunny Wailer and more…

Born & raised in NYC, I’m equally at home eating an apple on top of Mt. Karioi or enjoying palak paneer and garlic roti at Namaste Kitchen…

Tune in every Tuesday from 1:30-3pm+, live & direct, beaming globally from NYC to Whaingaroa to the world…
