The Raglan Community Board will hold its first meeting of 2026 on Wednesday 4 February at 1.30pm, in the Supper Room at Raglan Town Hall, with a range of local infrastructure, funding and governance matters up for discussion
The meeting will open with a karakia and includes a public forum, giving residents an opportunity to speak directly to the Board.
Works and projects update
Board members will receive an update on ongoing works, actions, and issues across Raglan, including progress on CCTV installations, the Greenslade Road Reserve playground, stormwater projects, and next steps for the Wainui Reserve 30-year development plan. The Wainui Reserve plan is currently with partner agencies for stakeholder engagement, with consultation involving mana whenua taking place through February
Stormwater upgrades are also underway in several locations, including Government Road, Stewart Street, Oram Park and Wallis Street.
Discretionary funding report
The Board will review the latest Discretionary Fund report, outlining funding allocated to community groups and the remaining balance for the 2025/26 year. Recent grants have supported initiatives such as youth programmes, community events, hall improvements, and safety projects, with just under $14,000 remaining after current commitments.
Meeting schedule for 2026
Board members are expected to confirm the 2026 meeting schedule, with meetings proposed on a six-weekly cycle through the year. All meetings are planned to begin at 1.30pm at Raglan Town Hall, helping align community board business with wider council and committee timetables
National community board representation
The Board will also vote on a representative for Zone 2 of the Community Boards Executive Committee (CBEC), a national body that advocates for community boards across Aotearoa and provides a formal link to Local Government New Zealand. Raglan has one vote in the process, with voting closing later in February.
Community proposals and reports
Several verbal reports are scheduled, including updates from councillors, the Board chair, Board members, and Waikato District Council’s senior leadership. The agenda also includes correspondence from Surfside Church, outlining a proposal to provide shared community parking in central Raglan and material relating to a lease area increase for Raglan Volunteer Coastguard, covering vessel, vehicle parking and storage needs.
Public participation encouraged
The public forum remains a key part of the meeting, with 30 minutes set aside for community members to raise issues or share feedback directly with the Board.
Residents are welcome to attend the meeting in person.
