The final local body election results are due out today, although the large number of special votes has meant councils like Hamilton City have delayed their final announcement till next week., We don’t know when our council will be ready with the count, but expect it to be near the end of the day.
The final results are not expected to cause any changes to the results that affect Whaingaroa but it will give us a chance to see exactly how dismal the turnout is for the 2022 election compared to other elections.
Local real estate agents LJ Hooker have joined the Property Brokers family this week – according to the PR. Greig and Natasha Metcalfe who owned the local LJ Hooker have decided to retire from real estate and this will make the Raglan branch the 13th Property Brokers branch in the Waikato Region In local sport there are plenty of options on offer for some summer activity besides the surf this year with Twilight Netball, Touch Rugby, Tennis and even Cricket a possibility for those who might be interested. The Surf, Touch and Netball clubs have facebook pages to check but to find the fledgling cricket group you’ll need to look for a post on the noticeboard by Luke Lennox. The tennis info is also available on the noticeboard.
And to add to the growing summer vibe – even if the weather hasn’t changed much – Ali’s Turkish Kebabs and Raglan Gelato are back up and running for summer.
